Onapil 0.5mg Tablet is used in the treatment of epilepsy and anxiety disorder.
Interactions / Warnings:
Onapil 0.5mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy interaction:
Onapil 0.5mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Expert advice:
If you are taking Onapil for the treatment of insomnia and anxiety, it should not be used more than 4 weeks. It may become less effective over the time. It causes sleepiness or drowsiness. If this happens to you, do not drive or use machinery. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Onapil, as it may cause excessive sleepiness or drowsiness. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney or liver problems. The addiction / habit-forming potential of Onapil is very high.

Sleepiness, Uncoordinated body movements, Slurred speech, Dizziness, Fatigue, Memory impairment, Irritability, Headache, Dryness in mouth, Depression, Constipation.
How to use:
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Onapil 0.5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Onapil 0.5mg Tablet is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.
